Googe–Valentine’s Day Google
I really have to start this post with…
LOL!
On Valentines day 2007, popular site Google.com changed the logo on their homepage to

If you search on Urbandictionary.com for “googe”, you get the following two results (warning, R rated quotes ahead!)
| 1. | Googe |

Googe is a sexual act originating in the Amazon rainforest. It is where the man wraps his legs around a womans face and googe’s like a bad badger. It is now used as an exclamation of hornyness or used as a term instead of fuck, or also can be used as an expression deep hatred. Eg, I fucking want to googe ya mam I want to googe you long time *russian Accent* |

| 2. | googe |

When you keep cumming like a firehose till u shrivel up (as in scary movie) I had a googe last night, i nearly died! |

Zune: Half and Half…
So it’s been a week since the Zune was launched. I’ve read so many reviews my head is about to explode. I will sum this up and keep it as short as possible.
From everything I have read:
Hardware (Zune Device) = Great
Software (Zune Marketplace) = Awful
The Zune has a lot of potential, even with this launch product. The device and the potential features due to the giant screen and the WiFi make it easily software update-able. The amount of potential cool features that could be introduced by Microsoft is almost limitless. Microsoft seems to be taking the same route they did with the Xbox 360; launch with a mediocre product and improve it through updates over time. I worry about this strategy with the Zune because unlike the 360, which was the only next gen console at the time, the Zune is in an overly saturated market with heated competition. Microsoft is going to really have to improve the feature set to give the Zune any chance.
To sum it up, I suggest waiting to buy a Zune to see if Microsoft really delivers on its potential feature set. The Zune Device itself is really going to have to be amazing to override the software (if you havent heard, check any Zune review site — the Zune Marketplace sucks).
Half thumbs up, half thumbs down…
Its going to have to be a little better than that to beat software/device packages like the ipod and others.
I wish Zune worked with iTunes…. or even Windows Media DRM for that matter…. sigh….
p.s. I know I havent posted in a long time. Feels good to be back!

New Wireless Mighty Mouse?
I believe that the Wireless Mighty Mouse is mysteriously nowhere to be seen on the Apple Store website. A link in the top right that says Wireless Mighty Mouse leads nowhere. It refreshes the page. Could a sneaky update be in the works?

NeXTSTEP Video
I still can’t believe how ahead of its time NeXTSTEP was… it was even better than XP is today!!!

I recently found this post, and I absolutely agree with it. All five of the apps on this page are definitely near “required”.
So if you haven’t downloaded this quintet of essential OS X apps, gogogogogogo!
If you have all of them, hooray for you–good job staying on the ball!

Double Dutch Disks
Interestingly, Apple is putting their Leopard Beta Preview on dual-layer DVDs, as the image is 5.05 GB, a hair too large for those 4.7 GB ranch house disks. I seriously doubt that Apple cannot fit the Leopard Preview onto a single layer… perhaps the double layer preview “tactic” is a small effort to thwart pirates (remember the rampant pirating and lawsuits that came up when Tiger was released?). Most people would not shell out 20-30 dollars for a pack of high end DVDs that they will only ever use once–and then have to pay again for the exact thing that they used them for (in this case, Leopard when it comes out).

A little off topic…
How is The Catcher in the Rye any good? It 5uX0rZ. h4x.
Okay yeah yeah back on topic;
OHHHHHH SNAP!
This comparison is probably the most detailed comparison of the Mac Pro vs. a similarly config’d competitor i’ve seen. They had to throw in a display to jack up the price of one of the competitors because it was so competitively priced.
If you can’t guess who won, just click the link below!!!! GOGOGOGOGOGO!

Thats right, you don’t have to wait for Leopard to use Virtual Desktops (Spaces). I’ve been using Virtudesktops for four days now, and I can say that it has increased my productivity more than any other application. With its starting config of four desktops and the ability to add more and reaname them as you wish, Virtuedesktops is no light hitter. This app relieves so much clutter and lets me have sets of windows that go together; mail and ichat/adium are together for communications, safari and flock are together for browsing, text editors and itunes are together for my writing and listening, and Pro and iLife apps are together. This enables me to have many (23 yesterday) applications open and fully functional. I am able to access them with a quick hotkey. I reccomend Virtuedesktops to anyone who has any type of clutter on their screen, especially those with smaller laptop size screens.
